Balancing painting, writing and personal development, Daria Dmitrieva has built a creative universe where art becomes a language of self-discovery. Now based in France, she dedicates her time to exhibitions, books and her iBrand methodology, helping people uncover their authentic identity. In this exclusive interview with AVA Magazine, she reflects on her artistic journey, her inspirations and the values that shape her work.

Your creative journey is unique. How did it all begin?

I believe I have always been an artist. As a child, I spent countless hours drawing and studying the works of the great masters, fascinated by their ability to express emotion with just a few brushstrokes. Although my professional life later led me into international marketing with companies such as Nestlé and Shell, creativity never disappeared. Evening painting classes in Moscow reignited that passion and eventually led to my first solo exhibition at the Mikhail Bulgakov Museum. That experience made me realize that once a painting meets its audience, it begins a life of its own. Today, living in France, I have the privilege of dedicating myself entirely to my two greatest passions: painting and writing.

Your fourth book has just been published in English. What does this milestone represent?

Publishing The Personal Branding Book in English allows me to reach readers across the world.  More importantly, it reflects a belief that personal branding is about much more than visibility it’s about understanding who we truly are. Through my iBrand method, I combine marketing, psychology and coaching to help people build an authentic identity and confidently express it.

What message do you hope readers will take away from the book?

We live in a world constantly telling us who we should become. Yet the greatest achievement is discovering who we truly are.  Talent alone is no longer enough. We must also learn how to communicate our value while remaining authentic.  Above all, I hope readers will be inspired to take action. The book was designed as a practical guide for personal growth rather than simply a book to read.

Your work bridges painting and literature. How do these disciplines complement one another?

Writing begins with thought, while painting begins with emotion. Words help me organize ideas, whereas painting allows me to express what language cannot.  Together, they create a complete dialogue between intellect and feeling.

How do you define artistic innovation?

True innovation is not about trying to be different it is about learning to see more deeply. I constantly visit exhibitions, read great literature and study both classical and contemporary artists. Authentic creativity grows from curiosity, knowledge and honesty.

Is there a philosophy that guides your life today?

Yes.

The sentence that best defines my outlook is:

“Know yourself, and you will know the world.”

Over time, I have realized that the greatest transformations always begin within ourselves. That is, ultimately, the true subject of my latest book.

What inspires you the most today?

The dialogue between art and fashion. Exhibiting during Paris Fashion Week was a defining experience. Haute couture speaks a language of elegance, movement, confidence and individuality. Capturing those moments of transformation is one of the greatest sources of inspiration for my paintings.

What lies ahead for you?

I am preparing for a new exhibition season while continuing the international launch of The Personal Branding Book in France, the United Kingdom and along the French Riviera.  Today, I feel that my paintings, books and public talks are gradually becoming part of one unified story one that celebrates creativity, authenticity and the extraordinary potential within every individual.

Finally, what message would you like to leave our readers?

Never stop discovering who you are.

Ask yourself regularly:

“What do I truly want?”

And perhaps even more importantly:

“What would I choose if I were not afraid?”

We were not born to imitate someone else’s success.

We are here to become the finest expression of ourselves.

If my paintings or my books encourage even one person to take a step toward their authentic self, then my work has fulfilled its purpose.
